The Government of Maharashtra with Social Forestry Department, the local industries, Rural Development and Water Conservation Department, Planning Department and Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University Jalgaon has announced setting up of a “Bio-Diversity Park” on 100 ha. of land belonging to Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University. The objective are promoting conservation of regional bio-diversity, provide research facilities in biodiversity and spread awareness among the populace regarding importance of biodiversity for mankind. The project will also recommend suitable water conservation and a revitalization of the heritage park at Gandhi Tekdi. The Biodiversity park will include a bio-diversity museum, a butterfly park, a green house, horticultural development through a central nursery and an ornamental garden, Orchidarium, a terrarium, visitors galleries, cafeterias, nature trail, bunding and check dams
